Al Pacino Discusses Bond with His 16-Month-Old Son Roman

Al Pacino, the legendary 84-year-old actor, has opened up about his relationship with his youngest child, Roman, in a new interview with the BBC. Roman, who was born last year in June, is Pacino's first child with his 30-year-old girlfriend Noor Alfallah. Despite his busy schedule, Pacino ensures he remains connected with his 16-month-old son.

In the interview, Pacino shared insights into how he co-parents Roman with Noor and revealed a surprising detail about their communication. "He does text me from time to time. Everything he does is real. Everything he does is interesting to me. So, we talk. I play the harmonica with him on the other video thing, and we have made this kind of contact. So, it’s fun," Pacino said.

This remark sparked confusion and amusement on social media, with many questioning how a child as young as 16 months could be texting. One user commented, “What 16 month old is coherently texting or able to comprehensively read one?” while another suggested, “He's old. Maybe he confused him with another child.”

Pacino, who also has three older children — 33-year-old Julie Pacino with acting coach Jan Tarrant, and 22-year-old twins, Olivia and Anton Pacino, with actress Beverly D'Angelo — seems to cherish his relationship with Roman despite the humorous skepticism online. One social media user quipped, “A 16-month-old baby is texting and I can’t get a response from a grown man… Do better fellas!!” Another joked, “My sons didn’t start texting until 19 months. I had no idea that we were so behind developmentally.”

Pacino's recent memoir, Sonny Boy, released by Penguin Random House on October 8, delves into his life, career in Hollywood, and his experiences as a father. On the work front, the actor will next appear in Johnny Depp’s directorial venture Modi - Three Days on the Wing of Madness, set to premiere on December 5.
