Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Box Office Collection Day 10: Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s Film Continues Its Dream Run
Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is showing remarkable consistency at the box office, continuing its dream run well into the second week.
Released alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has managed to hold its ground despite tough competition. The film, which opened to mixed reviews from critics, has clearly found a strong connect with audiences across regions.
According to early box office estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned ₹4.5 crore on its second Tuesday, ₹3 crore on Wednesday, and maintained steady momentum on Thursday with ₹2.50 crore. This brings the total collection to an impressive ₹55 crore, officially surpassing the lifetime earnings of Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino (₹52.61 crore).
While Metro In Dino featured a star-studded ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sensharma, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher, it couldn’t translate its critical appreciation into strong box office numbers. In contrast, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat—despite its smaller scale and mixed reviews—has emerged as a clear crowd favorite.
Directed by Milap Zaveri and produced under the banner of Desi Movies Factory, the film follows the intense and tumultuous romance between a powerful politician and a strong-willed superstar. Their passionate love story soon spirals into a gripping narrative of obsession, pride, and heartbreak. Remarkably, the film recovered its ₹25 crore budget within just four days of release.
Reflecting on the film’s success, Harshvardhan Rane shared his thoughts with Zoom, saying, “My initial reaction was that the whole country should finally stop using this one word that we’ve been obsessed with for the last six or seven years — nepotism. Let’s end this word in 2025 because you guys have ended it. Two outsider films released together on Diwali, and both received equal love and box office numbers. What does that mean? That the audience treats everyone equally.”
The film’s strong performance highlights a growing trend among moviegoers — a willingness to embrace content-driven stories over star power. With Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat continuing to draw audiences in its second week, it stands as a testament to how compelling storytelling and genuine performances can turn even modestly reviewed films into box office winners.
