Aditya Sarpotdar’s latest directorial venture, Thamma, continues to entertain audiences with its unique blend of horror and comedy. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, the film has been performing impressively at the box office since its release on October 21.

According to trade reports, Thamma earned an estimated ₹2.72 crore net in India on its ninth day, bringing its total domestic collection to ₹104.07 crore net. Despite a slight weekday dip, the film’s momentum remains strong. The movie opened with an impressive ₹24 crore and went on to earn ₹95.6 crore in its first week.

“Thamma crossed the ₹100 crore mark on its eighth day after collecting ₹5.75 crore on Tuesday, compared to ₹4.3 crore on Monday,” industry sources shared. The film’s consistent performance through weekdays indicates strong word-of-mouth and steady audience engagement.

The film, which belongs to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, has already become the second-highest earner in the franchise. For context, Stree (2018) collected ₹129.83 crore in India, while Stree 2 (2024) soared to ₹597.99 crore. Other films in the franchise — Bhediya (2022) and Munjya (2024) — had collected ₹68.99 crore and ₹101.60 crore respectively during their theatrical runs.

With its clever mix of humor and supernatural elements, Thamma has successfully struck a chord with audiences across age groups. As the film enters its second weekend, trade analysts are keenly watching to see how far this horror comedy can go.

“The film has performed well so far, even on weekdays, and it remains to be seen how much it collects by the end of its theatrical run,” a trade expert noted.

If the current trend continues, Thamma may well solidify its place as one of the biggest commercial successes in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe this year.
