Allu Aravind on Son Allu Arjun’s Success: "Truly Blessed by the Industry"

Veteran producer Allu Aravind has expressed immense pride over his son Allu Arjun’s soaring success, particularly with the record-breaking performance of Pushpa 2: The Rule. In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Aravind shared his thoughts on how his son is carrying forward the family's cinematic legacy and decoded the film’s massive nationwide impact.

Speaking about Allu Arjun’s achievements, Aravind stated, “It is so exciting. He becoming a hero is one part and he is breaking all the records of India and becoming the biggest film of India is another excitement for us. Truly blessed by all the biggies of the industry. My son is here.”

The Secret Behind Pushpa 2’s Success

Addressing what made Pushpa 2: The Rule such a blockbuster, the producer emphasized the importance of authentic storytelling. He explained that when a film portrays the raw essence of a place and its people, it resonates with audiences nationwide.

Aravind elaborated, “Whenever you want to tell something of the land, of the particular place honestly, that emotion will be caught by all India. If you think in reverse, how to make an all-India film and start thinking from there you will not land anywhere, is what I feel.” He further credited director Sukumar for his vision, stating, “The director Sukumar, a lot of credit goes to him. Unfortunately, Sukumar and Allu Arjun are best friends. So they were sitting and discussing, and Pushpa 1 evolved. From there, the journey begins. They wanted him in a rugged character representing every downtrodden people in India. That is how they started building this character. So it got instantly connected all over India, particularly with the people of the masses.”

A Record-Breaking Film

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule serves as the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. The film features Allu Arjun reprising his role as Pushpa Raj, alongside Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.

The action-packed sequel shattered box office records, grossing over ₹1800 crore worldwide, making it the second highest-grossing Indian film of all time. With its intense storyline and gripping performances, Pushpa 2 has captured audiences across the country.
