First-Ever Ticketed Trailer Launch for Bengali Film “Raghu Dakat” to Support Technician Welfare Trust
In a groundbreaking move for Bengali cinema, the highly anticipated Dev-starrer Raghu Dakat will host its trailer launch as a ticketed event for the first time. Scheduled for September 20 at Kolkata’s Netaji Indoor Stadium, the event’s proceeds will be donated to the Technician Welfare Trust, the film’s production team confirmed on Monday.
“Raghu Dakat is a film of many firsts, its historic backdrop, grand scale, and the larger celebration of cinema. As we gear up for the grand trailer launch at Netaji Indoor Stadium on 20th September, it also becomes the first ever ticketed trailer event driven by a cause that truly matters,” said a statement by production house SVF Entertainment.
Tickets for the event are priced at Rs 49 and are available for purchase via District by Zomato. The trailer unveiling is set to commence at 4 pm, promising an immersive cinematic experience for attendees.
The event also marks a special celebration of 20 glorious years of Megastar Dev’s contribution to Bengali cinema. “Promising to be a cinematic spectacle, this grand unveiling marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Bengali cinema. The celebrations don’t stop there—Tollywood will also honour 20 glorious years of Megastar Dev, the actor who redefined Bengali cinema with his charisma, versatility, and larger-than-life presence on screen. From blockbuster entertainers to powerful performances, Dev’s journey has been nothing short of iconic, making him one of the most beloved stars of our times,” the event’s description highlights.
Directed by Dhrubo Banerjee, Raghu Dakat also features acclaimed actors such as Anirban Bhattacharya, Sohini Sarkar, and Idhika Paul. The film further includes key performances by Om Sahani, Roopa Ganguly, and Alexx O'Nell. Dev portrays the titular role of a vigilante warrior who rises against colonial oppression to protect the marginalized.
A teaser released last month showcased a gripping narrative set during British colonial rule in Bengal, focusing on the brutal regime and the emergence of a fearless hero determined to challenge injustice.
Produced by SVF Entertainment in association with Dev Entertainment Ventures, Raghu Dakat is set to face competition at the box office during this year’s Durga Puja, with releases such as Raktabeej 2 (directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy), Devi Chaudhurani by Subhrajit Maitra, and Joto Kando Kolkatatei directed by Anik Dutta.
Currently, the Raghu Dakat cast is on an extensive promotional tour across Bengal, with their latest stop being Siliguri, as they build anticipation ahead of the grand trailer launch.
