Kartik Aaryan Clinches Dual Best Actor Honours at Zee Cine Awards 2024

Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan is riding high on success as he recently bagged two prestigious Best Actor awards for his performances in Chandu Champion and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The actor, who had a stellar 2024 with two vastly different roles, expressed his gratitude and excitement over what he described as a "rare moment" in his career. Kartik led the biographical sports drama Chandu Champion and the horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, both of which garnered critical acclaim and box office success. His powerful portrayals earned him both the Critics’ Best Actor and the Popular Best Actor awards at the Zee Cine Awards. Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday morning, Kartik shared a series of pictures posing with his two trophies.

In one of the pictures, he smiled as both awards were placed in front of him. Reflecting on the moment, he wrote, “Samajh rahe ho na !! Critics aur Popular dono jeet gaya (Won both Critics and Popular choice) (red heart emoticons) Rare moment in an actors life (folded hands emoticon) Critics Best Actor Leading Role- Chandu Champion. Best Actor Popular Leading Role - Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. 2024- A year to Remember #Gratitude Thank you @ZeeCineAwards.”

The awards ceremony also saw Kartik deliver a lively performance, dancing to one of his chartbuster tracks from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He also shared the stage with actor Ananya Panday in a special act. Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan, marked Kartik’s first collaboration with the filmmaker. The biopic narrates the inspiring life story of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, who was born in Maharashtra in 1944. The film explores Petkar’s journey through multiple challenges and his excellence in various sports, particularly wrestling and hockey. Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, saw Kartik reprise his popular role as Rooh Baba. The third installment in the hit horror-comedy franchise also featured Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri in key roles. Released during Diwali, the film went head-to-head with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and eventually emerged as a box office winner.

Adding to his busy schedule, Kartik has also wrapped filming for his upcoming project Aashiqui 3, a musical drama that features Sreeleela as the female lead. The film is slated for a theatrical release in October 2025.
