Mika Singh Says Diljit Dosanjh Will Be Forgiven If He Apologises for Sardaar Ji 3 Controversy

Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has been at the centre of a growing controversy ahead of the release of his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3, in which he stars alongside Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. The backlash stems from the decision to cast a Pakistani artist amidst strained relations between India and Pakistan following recent cross-border tensions.

Singer Mika Singh, who had earlier criticised Diljit by calling him a “fake singer”, has now softened his stance slightly, suggesting that forgiveness is possible if Dosanjh takes accountability. “Guys, I understand we all make mistakes in life. But when we do, there's one simple word that holds power: Sorry. If Diljit made a mistake, we are all willing to forgive. But he must apologise and remove all the objectionable scenes from the movie. That's it. No hate. Just respect. Desh pehle (Nation first),” Mika wrote on Instagram Stories.

Previously, Mika had also said, “Desh pehle (Country first). Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn’t going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly. Before releasing any content that involves artists from across the border, they should think twice — especially when our nation’s dignity is involved.”

Sardaar Ji 3, directed by Amar Hundal and produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu under White Hill Studios in collaboration with Story Time Productions, is set to release internationally on June 27. However, it will not be screened in India.

In addition to Mika Singh’s remarks, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has also voiced strong opposition to the film’s casting choices. The group criticised the inclusion of Hania Aamir, particularly in light of recent events such as the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 and India's retaliatory Operation Sindoor on May 7, which targeted terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Following these developments, many Pakistani celebrities, including Hania Aamir, have reportedly had their social media profiles restricted in India.

While the filmmakers and Diljit Dosanjh have not yet responded publicly to these demands, the controversy continues to draw attention just days before the film's overseas release.
