Numerous Hyderabad eateries face scrutiny after food safety officials discover expired products

Karachi Bakery in Telangana, Hyderabad, faced scrutiny following an inspection by the Commissioner of Food Safety. Bilal Ice Cream was also visited, revealing issues with the items they were selling. The findings were shared by the official X handle on the microblogging platform.

The Commissioner of Food Safety tweeted: "Recent inspections by the task force at Moazzam Jahi Market area uncovered violations at Bilal Ice Cream - both the outlet and their manufacturing unit were operating without valid licenses/registration. Fake brand water bottles were also discovered. Notices have been issued, and appropriate action will be taken."

The Commissioner of Food Safety also commented on Karachi Bakery, stating: "Expired stocks of rusks, biscuits, candy, chocolate cakes, toasts, and buns worth ₹5,200 were discarded. Use-by dates were not displayed on pastries and cakes, violating FSSAI regulations. Multiple unlabelled products were found, violating the FSSAI Act." Accompanying the tweets were pictures of the eatery.
