Producer Sandeep Ssingh revealed that Ankita Lokhande opted not to charge any fee for her role in "Swatantrya Veer Savarkar."

Ankita Lokhande is garnering praise for her portrayal of Yamunabai in Randeep Hooda's "Swatantrya Veer Savarkar." She stars opposite Randeep in the epic-drama. In a recent interview with India Today, Ankita was joined by her close friend and producer Sandeep Ssingh. Sandeep shared how Ankita supported him during a challenging phase of his career.

In his latest interview, Sandeep shared, “During my tenure as CEO at Mr. Bhansali's, co-producing projects like Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Mary Kom, Gabbar is Back, and Rowdy Rathod, Ankita was a steadfast supporter. Both Ankita and Kangana were among the first to suggest I should direct. Ankita even said, ‘Sandeep, whenever you make a film, I'll act in it.’ Though she couldn't join Safed, we remained in touch during my shoots.”

He elaborated on the circumstances surrounding Ankita's involvement in the film. Recalling their conversation, he mentioned, “When I received the opportunity to work on Savarkar, many were hesitant to collaborate due to the media scrutiny I faced. I didn't explicitly convey this to her. I approached her for the role of Yamunabai in Savarkar. She replied, ‘I have one condition: I won't charge for this film. I could never accept payment from you for any role.’ I agreed, and from then on, she became a part of all my films.”

"Swatantra Veer Savarkar," directed, co-written, and co-produced by Randeep Hooda, receives backing from Sandeep Ssingh, Anand Pandit, Zee Studios, and Yogesh Rahar. The film boasts a stellar cast including Amit Sial, Rajesh Khera, Lokesh Mittal, Brajesh Jha, Santosh Ojha, Rahul Kulkarni, Mrinal Dutt, Sanjay Sharma, Sal Uusuf, and others in pivotal roles. This period-drama, released on March 22 in both Hindi and Marathi, promises an immersive cinematic experience.
