SS Rajamouli Urges Public to Support Armed Forces Responsibly Amid India-Pakistan Tensions
Renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli, best known for directing blockbuster films RRR and Baahubali, has shared a message of unity and caution amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The acclaimed director took to social media to voice his support for the Indian Armed Forces and appealed to citizens to act with responsibility during these challenging times.
Amidst the current conflict, which intensified following a series of events between Thursday evening and Friday morning, Rajamouli expressed deep respect for the military’s response. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “Saluting our Brave Indian Armed Forces for their unwavering courage in protecting our nation from terrorism. Let’s stand together as a nation, inspired by their valor, to build a future of peace and unity. Jai Hind!”
Echoing the advisory issued by the Ministry of Defence, Rajamouli also emphasized the importance of discretion in sharing sensitive content online. He cautioned the public against filming or circulating visuals of troop movements, adding, “If you see any movement of the Indian Army, don’t take pictures or videos. Don’t share them as you might be helping the enemy. Stop forwarding unverified news or claims. You’ll only create noise, which the enemy wants. Stay calm, alert and positive. Victory is ours.”
The Ministry of Defence had earlier released a directive through social media, urging both media outlets and individuals to refrain from real-time reporting of military operations. Their statement warned that premature disclosure of strategic movements could compromise operational security and endanger lives. The ministry cited previous national security crises—including the Kargil War, 26/11 Mumbai attacks, and the Kandahar hijacking—as reminders of the risks involved.
Their advisory further stated that under clause 6(1)(p) of the Cable Television Networks (Amendment) Rules, 2021, only official briefings by designated spokespersons are authorized during anti-terror operations. The ministry called upon all media stakeholders and citizens to exercise "vigilance, sensitivity, and responsibility" while covering such events, stressing the importance of national security over sensationalism.
Rajamouli’s message comes as a timely reminder of the collective duty to stand with the nation, not just in sentiment but in action.
