Actor Ajith Kumar Honoured with Padma Bhushan for Contributions to Art

Renowned actor Ajith Kumar has been awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honor in India, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field of art. The announcement was made as part of the Padma Awards, which are conferred annually by the Government of India on the occasion of Republic Day.

This year, the Padma Awards were presented in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. These honors celebrate excellence across various fields, including art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, and civil service.

Ajith Kumar, who recently celebrated his triumph at the Dubai 24H racing event, now has another reason to rejoice. Reflecting on his latest achievement, officials stated: “Ajith Kumar has been honoured with the nation's third-highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan, by the Government of India. The actor has been honoured with the award for his contribution to the field of art.”

The ceremonial presentation of the award will take place at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi later this year, where President Droupadi Murmu will confer the honor upon the actor. The Padma Bhushan has been awarded to 19 distinguished individuals this year.
