Aditi Rao Hydari shares her experience with Amitabh Bachchan while shooting 'Wazir'

Aditi Rao Hydari recently shared her incredible experience collaborating with Amitabh Bachchan in Bejoy Nambiar's "Wazir".

Aditi Rao Hydari is currently celebrating the success of her latest endeavor, starring in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama streaming series "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar". Her performance and dance sequences have garnered widespread acclaim, despite the show receiving mixed reviews. Since her on-screen debut in 2006, Aditi has had the privilege of collaborating with industry legends such as Mani Ratnam, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, and Prakash Raj in notable projects.

Recently, Aditi Rao Hydari shared her excitement about collaborating with Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan in Bejoy Nambiar’s "Wazir". Describing it as an incredible experience, she expressed, “I was literally jumping up and down when I found out I would be in ‘Wazir.’ I never imagined I’d have the chance to work with him. Being around him was surreal. His presence is commanding; when he enters a room, you feel compelled to stand up.” Aditi shared these sentiments during a conversation with Humans of Bombay.

“But he also exudes this incredible childlike excitement on set. Despite being on a wheelchair throughout the film, he would zip around on it, radiating enthusiasm. Witnessing that was truly remarkable,” she added.

Aditi also shared how Bachchan's dedication extends to never leaving the set to rest in his van. She recounted a touching moment that showcased his kindness and generosity. "During a scene where he's speaking to me with a lengthy dialogue, the camera focused on him and over my shoulder. As he delivered his lines, I found myself moved to tears just watching him. When it was my turn to be filmed, I assumed someone else would give me cues or he would deliver his lines plainly, being a senior actor. But I was mistaken because he's a true artist who loves his craft. He performed the scene for me again with the same emotional intensity and wholeheartedness he did for his own take," she shared.

Aditi further reflected on the emotional impact of Bachchan's gesture, remarking, “It just moved me to tears again. And I was like, ‘that’s so incredible.’ Despite his years of experience, he remains so enthusiastic and eager to support his co-stars. That level of generosity and kindness is truly remarkable.”

She also highlighted her excitement for "Wazir" knowing it was produced by another cinema legend, Vidhu Vinod Chopra. “He saw my screentest and he was like, ‘I like this girl.’ I don’t think he even saw the full screentest. He watched a little bit and he was like, ‘we want her in the film,’” she added.
