Allu Arjun Released on Interim Bail Following Arrest Over Fan Death at Pushpa 2 Premiere

Actor Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday in connection with a tragic incident at the premiere of his highly anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule. The event, held at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, led to a stampede-like situation, resulting in the death of a woman and critical injuries to her young son. Following his arrest by Chikadapally police, Arjun was produced before the Nampally Court and sent to a 14-day remand. However, the Telangana High Court granted him a four-week interim bail on Saturday after he filed a petition to quash the FIR lodged against him.

The actor has since received a wave of support from industry peers and colleagues. Akhil Akkineni, who visited Arjun at his Jubilee Hills residence on Saturday evening, expressed solidarity by embracing the actor in a heartfelt gesture. “Sorry brother,” Akhil said, to which Arjun responded, “Congratulations,” congratulating him on his recent engagement to Zainab Ravdjee. Akhil spent a few moments with Arjun, encouraging him with a hug and saying, “We are all proud of you, take care brother.”

Earlier in the day, Arjun’s family members, including his brother Naga Chaitanya, step-cousin Rana Daggubati, and step-uncle Venkatesh, also visited him. They conveyed their support and spent a few minutes with the actor before leaving.

Actor Vijay Deverakonda also extended his support, telling PTI, “I am 100% in solidarity with Arjun over the issue.” Deverakonda, along with his brother Anand Deverakonda, met Arjun at his residence earlier in the day.

Throughout Saturday, numerous celebrities visited the actor to express their empathy and encouragement, including Sudheer Babu, Nimma Upendra, Sharwanand, and filmmaker Sukumar. Prominent figures such as Ram Gopal Varma, Ravi Kishan, Varun Dhawan, Rashmika Mandanna, Sreeleela, Vignesh Shivan, Khushbu Sundar, Adivi Sesh, Nithiin, and Sundeep Kishan also expressed their support.

The tragic incident occurred when Arjun’s visit to the theatre drew an overwhelming crowd, leading to chaos and a stampede-like situation. While one fan tragically lost her life, her son remains hospitalised in critical condition. The actor’s legal team is reportedly working on resolving the matter, as the incident has sparked widespread discussions about crowd management at high-profile events.

Arjun, known for his dedication to fans, has yet to release a personal statement on the matter. However, his supporters in the industry have rallied around him, ensuring he does not face this difficult time alone.
