Amar Kaushik to Produce First Vampire-Comedy from Maddock Supernatural Universe
Amar Kaushik, the acclaimed director known for the horror-comedy Stree 2, is set to produce a new supernatural horror-comedy film under the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Kaushik, who has previously produced Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga and Munjya, shared the exciting news in an interview with India Today.
The filmmaker revealed that the upcoming project is a vampire film titled Thamba. He stated, “The vampire film is titled Thamba. We will begin shooting for it in the next two months.”
Kaushik also confirmed that work is progressing on Bhediya 2, a sequel to the hit film Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan. While the story has been written, Kaushik mentioned that the screenplay is still being developed as he is not fully satisfied with some aspects of the story.
In addition to Thamba, there are reports that Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna have been cast in another horror-comedy directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for Munjya. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the film, tentatively titled Vampires of Vijay Nagar, is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. This project will mark the first collaboration between Khurrana and Mandanna. The report also mentions, “Ayushmann Khurrana and Dinesh Vijan have previously worked together on Bala and share a great creative bond. They have been discussing Vampires of Vijay Nagar for a while now and are all set to take the film on floors by the end of this year. It will mark the first collaboration of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. Both the actors have a very unique arc in the film, which will take the audiences by surprise. The script is presently in the writing stage and will soon get into the pre-production stage.”
With these upcoming projects, Amar Kaushik and Maddock Films continue to expand the Maddock Supernatural Universe, bringing fresh and innovative stories to the big screen.
