Ananya Panday Recalls Childhood Memories with Aryan Khan and Discusses Privacy Issues in Promotion of Netflix Thriller "CTRL"
In a recent promotional video for her Netflix thriller CTRL, actor Ananya Panday opened up about childhood memories involving Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan, and Shanaya Kapoor. The dystopian film CTRL deals with themes of artificial intelligence and the erosion of privacy in the digital age, a topic that Ananya humorously tied to her own past experiences.
During an interview alongside CTRL director Vikramaditya Motwane and comedian Tanmay Bhat, Ananya recalled an incident from her youth involving Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. “I used to record what I do in a day and what I eat in a day, but not post it anywhere. I have it! PhotoBooth had just come out on Apple, and me, Suhana, and Shanaya used to record stuff, and Aryan used to threaten us that he would leak those videos if we didn’t do work for him,” Ananya said. Describing the incident as “juvenile fun,” she referred to it as her “random trauma story,” which elicited a playful response from Tanmay, who quipped, “Somebody needs to have a word with Aryan.”
Ananya has maintained close friendships with Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, and Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay Kapoor, since their childhood. Aryan Khan, Suhana's older brother, shared this dynamic group bond.
However, Ananya has also found herself at the center of a privacy mishap. In a separate promotional video released by Netflix India earlier this month, Ananya recounted how she accidentally leaked Suhana Khan’s phone number. “Once, I leaked Suhana's number by mistake. I was FaceTiming her. And then I was like, Suhana is not picking up. I screenshotted the picture, and I put it on Instagram, and her number was there. Then she (Suhana Khan) called me, 'Listen, my number got hacked,' and I said, 'Oh my God. What happened Suhana? That's such a crazy story.’ But then someone told her that I did it,” Ananya confessed.
The light-hearted revelations come as Ananya promotes her latest project CTRL, which delves into issues of privacy and digital autonomy—an increasingly relevant topic in today's technologically driven world. CTRL, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, is available for streaming on Netflix.
