Chhaava Witnesses a Massive Saturday Surge, Inches Closer to ₹500 Crore Mark

The Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava continues its phenomenal run at the box office, witnessing an extraordinary jump in collections on its third Saturday. The film, which earned ₹13.30 crores on Friday, saw its earnings soar to ₹22.50 crores on Saturday, marking an impressive surge of nearly ₹10 crores.
"Yet again, there was a massive Saturday jump for Chhaava as collections zoomed to ₹22.50 crores. That’s tremendous both as an absolute number for the 15th day and the fact that Friday was ₹13.30 crores and this has gone almost ₹10 crores ahead. Moreover, this has also been a trend seen post-pandemic where even big-budget films see this kind of terrific jump when they have been accepted by the audiences," stated trade analysts.
The post-pandemic box office dynamics have created an "all or nothing" scenario for Bollywood films. Many either struggle to cross the ₹100 crore mark or shatter expectations by heading straight for ₹500 crores. Chhaava is proving to be a prime example of the latter trend, reinforcing the notion that when a film is embraced by audiences, its success surpasses even the most optimistic pre-release predictions.
"In a way, it’s an ‘aar ya paar’ scene for all the movies that are arriving from Bollywood currently. Either they fail so big that there is just no redemption round the corner. On the other hand, when they are successful, then they are far bigger than how one may not have even imagined prior to release. That explains how the business is so skewed when several biggies either fold up under ₹100 crores mark or end up aiming for that ₹500 crores straight away."
Currently, Chhaava stands at a staggering ₹447.26 crores within just 15 days, averaging ₹30 crores per day since release. At this pace, the film is poised to touch the ₹475 crore milestone before comfortably crossing the ₹500 crore mark by Thursday.
"This is what’s happening for the Vicky Kaushal starrer as well, which has now come close to ₹450 crores mark already in just 15 days, which means an average of ₹30 crores per day since release. Currently standing at ₹447.26 crores, the film will come close to ₹475 crores and then cross ₹500 crores with ease by Thursday."
With its exceptional trajectory, Chhaava has cemented its place among the biggest Bollywood blockbusters, setting a new benchmark for historical dramas and further solidifying Vicky Kaushal’s position as a bankable star in the industry.
