Diljit Dosanjh Criticizes India’s Concert Infrastructure, Issues Ultimatum During Chandigarh Show

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, currently hosting a multi-city tour across India, has made a strong statement about the state of live performance infrastructure in the country. While performing in Chandigarh on Saturday as part of his Dil-Luminati tour, the singer expressed his disappointment and announced he would not host another concert in India until the situation improves.
In a video shared by a fan, Diljit said, “I want to tell the designated authorities that India does not have the infrastructure for live shows. This is a big revenue-generating space. It also gives livelihood to many. Please focus on this space as well.”
He further added, “I will try to set up a stage in the middle while the crowd is distributed around it (to improve concert experience). I will not perform shows here until things improve here. Instead of troubling us, improve the infrastructure.”
Diljit’s concerts have faced criticism recently due to alleged black-marketing of tickets, with many fans complaining about high resale prices. Addressing the issue, the singer clarified that he has no connection with black-marketers. “An artist cannot do anything if tickets are being sold like this,” he stated, expressing disappointment over being questioned on the matter.
Despite these challenges, Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour has been a resounding success, drawing massive crowds in cities such as Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. His dynamic stage presence, soulful voice, and ability to connect with audiences have elevated the concert experience, blending Punjabi beats with a global appeal.
The Chandigarh concert marked another milestone in the tour, with fans lauding Diljit’s electrifying performance. He is set to perform in Guwahati next, with anticipation for his shows continuing to grow.
In addition to his concerts, Dosanjh remains in the spotlight for his musical endeavors, including his recently released song "Don," a collaboration with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and a track for Varun Dhawan’s film Baby John.
Diljit Dosanjh's ultimatum highlights the need for India to prioritize infrastructure improvements in the live performance industry, a sector that not only generates significant revenue but also provides livelihoods to countless individuals. Fans and industry stakeholders alike hope his call for action prompts meaningful change.
