Eminem Becomes a Grandfather as Daughter Hailie Jade Welcomes First Child
Eminem, the iconic rapper known for his lyrical prowess and decades-long influence in the music industry, has officially stepped into a new role—grandfather. His daughter, Hailie Jade Mathers, recently welcomed her first child with husband Evan McClintock, marking a new chapter for the closely followed family.
The 29-year-old podcast host and influencer took to Instagram to share the joyful news with her 3.9 million followers, posting a series of heartwarming photos of her newborn son. In the post, she wrote, “Happy due date//3 weeks earthside little e,” while also revealing his full name—Elliot Marshall McClintock—and birth date of March 14.
Fans were quick to notice the touching tribute in the baby’s name. The child's middle name, "Marshall," serves as a sweet nod to Hailie’s father, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III. The sentimental gesture left many emotional, with one user commenting, “Not me tearing up at the middle name like I'm related,” and another noting, “His name is EM&M,” in a clever play on words. A third user simply wrote, “His middle name im crying he’s so precious.”
The pregnancy was first subtly announced last October through a heartfelt music video for Eminem’s 2024 track Temporary, featuring Skylar Grey. The video captured the moment the rapper learned he was going to become a grandfather. In a particularly touching scene, a then-pregnant Hailie presented her father with a customized Detroit Lions jersey that had “Grandpa” emblazoned on the back, followed by sonogram images that visibly moved the 52-year-old artist.
Shortly after, Hailie shared her pregnancy journey on Instagram with glimpses from her maternity shoot, sparking excitement and well-wishes across social media.
Hailie, who hosts the Just a Little Shady podcast, has long maintained a strong public connection with her followers while still guarding her private life. The birth of her son marks another deeply personal moment she’s chosen to share with her fans—many of whom have grown up listening to her father’s music and witnessing her journey from childhood to motherhood.
The news has not only warmed hearts but also symbolized the passing of a generational torch—from the “Rap God” to a proud grandfather.
