Bollywood actress Kajol, known for her versatility, is all set to take on the role of a police officer for the first time in her upcoming Netflix film Do Patti. The film, which also stars Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh in prominent roles, delves into themes of betrayal, a subject Kajol addressed candidly at the trailer launch event.

In an interview with Indian Express, Kajol shared her thoughts on betrayal and whether she has encountered it in her personal life. "Betrayals are always too personal," Kajol remarked. "Everybody goes through a betrayal in life. You feel it as a child sometimes. You feel it as an adult at some point in life for sure. If not, you haven’t lived life or been a monk under a tree. We all have felt betrayals."

The actress further reflected on how Do Patti captures the theme of betrayal. "We have portrayed it quite well in the film. There are too many knots in the film. You will get tired of the betrayal you see in the film," she added, hinting at the complexity of the storyline.

When questioned about playing a police officer for the first time, Kajol expressed her excitement, noting the responsibility that comes with donning a uniform. "When you actually wear a uniform, there is a sense of respect that comes in. I am never nervous for any of my films that release. I give all my heart to my job, and when I do that, I have 100 per cent faith in myself," she said. Acknowledging that audiences have varied opinions, Kajol added, "Everyone has a different perspective. Some will like it, and some won’t, but that’s a different situation. We work for audiences to love us. I appreciate that love."

Given her husband Ajay Devgn’s popular portrayal of a police officer in the Singham franchise, Kajol was asked if she took any advice from him for her role. To this, she humorously responded, "I have always said this on every stage: I am the Singham at home. As for this role, I didn’t take any tips from Ajay."

Do Patti, produced by Kanika Dhillon and Kriti Sanon, is set to release on Netflix on October 25, 2024, and promises to be an intriguing exploration of trust, betrayal, and justice.
