Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Collection Day 5: Rishab Shetty’s Prequel Continues Its Winning Streak
Rishab Shetty’s latest venture, Kantara Chapter 1, continues its victorious run at the box office, receiving widespread critical acclaim and massive audience appreciation across India.
“Kantara Chapter 1 box office collection day 5: Rishab Shetty's prequel to the 2022 release has received unanimous acclaim and positive reviews.” The film, which released on Dussehra, has been a major crowd-puller since its opening day, with fans lauding both its storytelling and visual grandeur.
“Kantara Chapter 1 box office collection day 5: Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 has taken the box office by storm. Ever since its bumper response on the opening day on Dussehra, fans have not stopped praising the film. As the film prepares to take on the weekdays from today (October 6), single-day collections are expected to dip.” Despite the usual weekday slowdown, the film’s performance remains impressive.
According to the latest data from Sacnilk, the film “has managed to collect ₹25.66 crore on its first Monday. The total collection now stands at ₹250.91 crore after 5 days of release in India.”
The prequel opened to an explosive start with “₹61.85 crore on Thursday” and maintained strong momentum through its first weekend. Within just five days, it has shattered multiple box office records, emerging as the highest-grossing Kannada film of the year.
It has now surpassed the collection of Su From So (₹92 crore net in India last month), and outperformed several big releases including Sitaare Zameen Par (₹167 crore), Lokah Chapter 1 (₹153 crore), and even the domestic collection of KGF Chapter 1 (₹185 crore).
Set a thousand years before the events of the original Kantara (2022), this prequel delves deeper into the folklore and mythology that define the franchise. “It chronicles the clash between the jungle village of Kantara and the neighbouring kingdom of Kadamba. Berme (Rishab Shetty), a warrior from Kantara, goes up against Kulasekhara (Gulshan Devaiah), who tries to exploit and rule their land. The film ends with the promise of Kantara Chapter 2.”
Alongside Rishab Shetty, the film stars Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles. The original Kantara was a global blockbuster, earning over ₹400 crore worldwide on a modest ₹15 crore budget — and it seems Kantara Chapter 1 is set to continue that legacy with equal, if not greater, success.
With such a phenomenal start and strong word-of-mouth, Kantara Chapter 1 is poised to dominate the box office for weeks to come, reaffirming Rishab Shetty’s place among India’s most visionary filmmakers.
