Karan Aujla Faces Complaint Ahead of Highly Anticipated India Arena Tour

Karan Aujla, the renowned Punjabi singer and songwriter, is gearing up for his highly anticipated debut eight-city India arena tour, It Was All A Dream. The tour, produced and presented by Team Innovation and Live Nation, is scheduled to take place in December 2024 and early January 2025. However, the singer finds himself embroiled in controversy just ahead of the tour.
According to reports, a complaint has been filed against Aujla by professor Panditrao Dharnevar, alleging that his songs promote the glorification of alcohol, drugs, and violence. The complaint specifically requests that Aujla refrain from performing tracks like Chitta Kurta, Adhia, Few Days, Alcohol 2, Gangsta, and Bandook during his shows.
Dharnevar has stated that if Aujla performs these songs, he will file a defamation petition in court against the SSP and DGP of Chandigarh. "These songs could have a negative impact on the audience," Dharnevar emphasized in his complaint.
This is not the first time Dharnevar has taken such action. He previously filed a similar complaint against global icon Diljit Dosanjh, urging him to avoid singing songs that promote alcohol, drugs, and violence. The Telangana government later issued Dosanjh a legal notice, instructing him to comply with this demand.
Karan Aujla's It Was All A Dream tour is set to kick off in Chandigarh on December 7, followed by performances in Bengaluru on December 13, New Delhi on December 15, and Mumbai on December 21. The tour will also include other cities, with fans eagerly awaiting the live performances of his hit tracks.
Aujla, who is widely regarded as a prominent name in contemporary Punjabi music, has delivered chart-topping tracks such as Softly, White Brown Black, and Tauba Tauba from Vicky Kaushal’s film Bad Newz. Despite the ongoing controversy, the Indian-Canadian artist remains one of the most celebrated talents in the industry, known for his unique sound and powerful lyrics.
