Kolkata Gears Up for a Cultural and Tourism Extravaganza
The vibrant city of Kolkata is abuzz with a series of engaging cultural and tourism events, captivating both locals and visitors alike.
The Kolkata Travel Mart 2024 is underway at the Kshudiram Anushilan Kendra in Salt Lake, running daily from 11 am to 7 pm. This three-day exhibition, which concludes on November 25, serves as a platform to showcase the region's rich tourism potential. A highlight of the event was the Storytellers Conclave, where celebrated actor-producer Prosenjit Chatterjee, popularly known as ‘Bumba,’ participated as a panellist in its inaugural session on Saturday. The session, titled “Mastering Crafts: Local Stories for Global Audiences,” provided valuable insights into crafting narratives with global appeal. The discussion was moderated by noted film critic Mohor Basu.
In another part of the city, the Yuva Shastriya Sangeet Sammelan brought classical music enthusiasts together at Sisir Mancha, Nandan. The event, which began on Saturday, has featured enthralling performances by talented artists and promises to continue captivating audiences until its conclusion on November 24.
Meanwhile, the ongoing Bangla Jagoron Mela at Salt Lake has emerged as a delightful winter attraction. With its vibrant stalls and evening festivities, the fair provides Kolkatans with an opportunity to celebrate the season in a quintessentially Bengali way.
