Korean Actor Song Jae-rim Found Dead at 39 in Seoul; Police Investigation Underway

Renowned Korean actor Song Jae-rim was discovered deceased in his Seoul apartment on November 12. The actor, aged 39, reportedly left behind a two-page letter, fueling speculations surrounding the nature of his passing. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances.

Song Jae-rim, a former model, had an accomplished career in South Korea's entertainment industry, appearing in popular television dramas such as Moon Embracing the Sun (2012), Two Weeks (2013), and Our Gap-soon (2016–2017). His funeral is scheduled for November 14 at the Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital Funeral Hall, according to Xportnews.

The news of Song's untimely death has left fans worldwide in mourning. One fan expressed, “We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of actor Song Jae-rim. His talent, warmth, and unique presence brought joy to so many. In this moment of sorrow, our hearts go out to his family, friends, and fans worldwide. Song began his career as a runway model, collaborating with prominent designers such as Juun. J, Herin Homme, and Ha Sang Beg. His work graced the pages of major fashion magazines, including Bazaar Korea, Vogue Girl Korea, and GQ Korea. In 2009, he transitioned to acting, eventually rising to prominence in dramas like Clean with Passion for Now (2018) and I Wanna Hear Your Song (2019). His appearance on the variety show We Got Married with actress Kim So-eun further boosted his popularity and endeared him to fans.

Most recently, Song starred in the 2024 drama Queen Woo, where he portrayed Go Pae-eui, the first prince, and appeared in My Military Valentine as Song Jae-hun, a member of the anti-unification force.
