Nagarjuna Returns as Host for Bigg Boss Telugu Season 8, Breaks Viewing Records with Groundbreaking Premiere

Actor Nagarjuna has made a return as the host of the popular reality show Bigg Boss Telugu for its eighth season, which premiered on September 1, 2024. Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna shared remarkable statistics about the opening episode, describing the launch as "groundbreaking." According to the actor, the launch episode achieved a TVR of 18.9 and registered an impressive 5.9 billion viewing minutes.

He expressed his excitement, saying, “5.9 billion minutes of record breaking viewing. The power of entertainment. BIGGBOSSTELUGU8 just shattered records of viewing minutes and ratings.” Nagarjuna further added, “Feeling thrilled and honored to witness your love which made Bigg Boss to reach incredible new heights! This marks Nagarjuna’s sixth consecutive season as the host of Bigg Boss Telugu, with the first two seasons being hosted by Jr NTR and Nani. For the new season, 14 contestants entered the house to compete in various tasks aimed at increasing the prize pool. In a significant twist, the current season does not feature captaincy or rations, removing the possibility of immunity from voting. Contestants will have to earn their rations through tasks.

The launch episode featured several prominent guests, including actors Rana Daggubati, Nivetha Thomas, Nani, Priyanka Mohan, and director Vishwadev Rachakonda. As of the first week, eight contestants face possible elimination: Vishnupriya, Nainika, Aditya Om, Naga Manikanta, Nikhil, Prithviraj, Shekar Basha, and Kiraak Seetha. Naga Manikanta, Shekar Basha, and Kiraak Seetha are currently in the danger zone. The weekend episode will reveal who remains in the house and who will be the first to leave.
