Ranveer Singh has taken legal action by filing an FIR against an AI-generated Deepfake video, a spokesperson has confirmed

Making a splash with his Bollywood debut in "Band Baaja Baaraat," he garnered acclaim for his portrayal and has since soared to greater heights. However, recent events have seen him grappling with the fallout of a Deepfake video, prompting him to take legal action by filing a police complaint.

In a statement issued, the spokesperson confirmed, "Indeed, we have lodged a police complaint, resulting in an FIR against the account responsible for disseminating the AI-generated Deepfake video featuring Mr. Ranveer Singh."

The circulating Deepfake AI video falsely alleges that the actor endorsed the Congress party during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Ranveer Singh had previously addressed concerns about Deepfakes on social media, urging vigilance with the message, "Beware of Deepfakes, my friends."
