Shruti Haasan Reflects on Life Lessons Following Parents' Separation
Shruti Haasan, the acclaimed actor and musician, recently opened up about the transformative experiences that shaped her outlook on life and career. The daughter of renowned actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika, Shruti has established herself across multiple film industries while also nurturing a successful music career.
In a candid conversation with Filmfare, Shruti acknowledged the privileges she grew up with but also spoke about how life circumstances humbled her early on. "I was very humbled by my parents’ separation. When we moved from Chennai to Mumbai, it wasn’t like we moved from a mansion to another mansion. It wasn’t really comfortable in Mumbai. But I am glad these lessons happened. From travelling everywhere in a Mercedes to taking the local train was an abrupt changeover, and I realised how we can learn from both these journeys," she shared.
Shruti explained that her years away from Chennai were not only a time of personal growth but also of healing and reconnection. "I had reconnected with appa by then, and went abroad to study music," she said, highlighting how these experiences reinforced her desire to become financially independent without developing a sense of entitlement.
The Salaar actor also spoke about the emotional struggles she faced, admitting, "Honestly, it wasn’t from a place of thinking I was better, but it was because I felt lesser than everyone around me. I think there was a fear inside me, and even though I was projecting confidence, I was shaken to my core for many years."
Reflecting on her personal transformation, Shruti added, "I realised the more humble I became, the more well-mannered I was, and I exuded a lot more confidence."
Despite her early exposure to fame and luxury, Shruti Haasan’s journey has been marked by resilience and self-awareness. Her candid reflections not only reveal her grounded personality but also inspire many who look up to her as a symbol of grace and perseverance in the entertainment industry.
