‘Singham Again’ Achieves Milestone as Highest-Grossing Film in the Franchise

The latest release in the ‘Singham’ franchise, Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty, has had an impressive run at the box office since its debut a week ago. Produced on a substantial budget, the cop drama achieved a significant milestone, becoming the highest-grossing installment in the franchise.

In a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, lead actor Ajay Devgn and director Rohit Shetty reflected on the atmosphere on the set, which included a line-up of Bollywood stars. Discussing his off-camera moments with co-stars, Devgn humorously noted Kareena Kapoor Khan’s penchant for sharing industry gossip. “It’s just normal, working with colleagues,” he shared, describing how fellow actor Ranveer Singh’s banter kept him entertained on set. “Ranveer kept you (me) busy all the time by talking rubbish. You learn a lot about the industry from Bebo. She has all the gossips in the world,” Devgn said.

Shetty, meanwhile, opened up about the dynamics of directing an ensemble cast featuring six major actors. Despite the star power on set, Shetty emphasized that everyone worked with a technician-like commitment. “It’s not really difficult. Everybody comes on set like a technician. They are there for the film. I have never seen ever in so many films that ‘Oh, I am the star’. It’s never like this,” he said, adding, “Everyone just comes to work. A lightman will also work hard, and at the same time, a superstar will also work hard when he’s on the set.”

'Singham Again' features Ajay Devgn reprising his role as DCP Bajirao Singham, with Kareena Kapoor Khan as Avni Kamat, his on-screen wife who is abducted in the storyline. In addition to Devgn and Kapoor, the cast includes Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, and Jackie Shroff. Arjun Kapoor plays the film’s main antagonist, a character named Danger Lanka.

With the strong audience turnout, the film recorded a global collection of around Rs 250 crore (Rs 246 crore) in its first week. Domestically, it brought in approximately Rs 160 crore, marking an encouraging start for the latest entry in this popular action-packed franchise.
