US Ambassador Eric Garcetti reminisces about his encounter with Shah Rukh Khan at Mannat

In a recent statement, Eric Garcetti, the US ambassador to India, reflected on his visit to Shah Rukh Khan's iconic home, Mannat, back in May 2023. He shared the positive reactions of his colleagues to the memorable meeting.

Discussing his encounter with actor Shah Rukh Khan during his initial weeks in India, US Ambassador Eric Garcetti disclosed the disbelief among his office colleagues regarding their meeting. During the latest episode of the ANI podcast with Smita Prakash, Eric shared insights into how he discovered the widespread adoration from fans across the nation for Shah Rukh.

Following his 2023 encounter with Shah Rukh Khan, also known as SRK, Eric recounted how his office colleagues questioned him about the significance of the meeting. Reflecting on the interaction, Eric mentioned, "I think when I visited Shah Rukh Khan during my first couple of weeks here in India, we talked cricket because, of course, Shah Rukh owns the IPL team KKR... Everybody in my office went nuts. They were like, ‘Oh my God, did you know who you met?’ I said, ‘Yeah, Shah Rukh Khan.’ But I didn't realize the extent of adoration across the country for Shah Rukh."

The duo convened in May last year at the actor's palatial abode, Mannat, in Mumbai, delving into Bollywood and its profound cultural influence worldwide. Eric turned to X (formerly Twitter) to divulge insights into his visit to the actor's residence.

"Could it be time for my Bollywood debut? Engaged in a delightful conversation with superstar @iamsrk at his esteemed residence, Mannat, gaining deeper insights into Mumbai's film industry and exchanging thoughts on the immense cultural influence of both Hollywood and Bollywood globally," Eric shared.

He also posted snapshots with Shah Rukh, who sported a full-sleeved black T-shirt paired with black trousers and a cap. Gauri Khan was also captured in one of the images.
