Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna Promote Historical Drama Chhaava in Hyderabad

Directed by Laxman Utekar, the much-anticipated historical drama Chhaava is set to hit theaters on February 14. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles, the film brings to life the story of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. It is an adaptation of the renowned Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the film also features Akshaye Khanna in a key role.
Filming for Chhaava commenced in 2023 and concluded in 2024. The film’s release was initially scheduled for December last year but was postponed to its current February 14 release date. With music composed by the legendary AR Rahman, the film is expected to offer a grand cinematic experience.
As part of the promotional campaign, Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna visited Hyderabad, where they interacted with fans and launched the song Jaane Tu from the film. During the event, Rashmika took the opportunity to teach Vicky a few phrases in Telugu, helping him address the audience in their native language.
Vicky later shared moments from the event on his Instagram stories, expressing gratitude towards Rashmika for her guidance. Posting a video of himself greeting the crowd in Telugu, he wrote, “Meant every word. Thank you Hyderabad.” In the clip, he is seen saying, “Greetings everyone. I hope everyone is well. I am very happy to be here in Hyderabad today.”
In another post, Vicky playfully referred to Rashmika as his “teacher” as he encouraged the audience to watch the film. In Telugu, he said, “I hope everyone watches the film in theatre on February 14 and supports us.” His effort to speak the language was met with cheers and applause from the crowd.
Rashmika Mandanna, who was last seen in the blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule, has an exciting lineup of upcoming projects. She will soon be seen in Sikandar alongside Salman Khan and Thama with Ayushmann Khurrana in Hindi. Additionally, she has two Telugu films in the pipeline—The Girlfriend with Dheekshith Shetty and Kubera with Dhanush.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal, who recently starred in Bad Newz, is set to feature in Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. While he is yet to announce his other projects, his fans eagerly await his next ventures.
With its compelling storyline, stellar cast, and grand production, Chhaava is poised to be a significant addition to historical cinema. Fans can catch the film in theaters on February 14.
