Dolly's brother, Manprit, shared the sad news with the media, saying, "She's no more. My sister passed away in the early hours of today. She had cervical cancer. Towards the end, it had spread to her lungs as well. We admitted her to the hospital last night. Her health had deteriorated."

Dolly's family is now engulfed in two sorrows. Just one night before Dolly's death, her sister, Amandeep Sohi, also passed away. She had jaundice.
