Alia Bhatt Opens Up on Career and Motherhood in First Episode of Kareena Kapoor’s What Women Want
In the inaugural episode of Season 5 of What Women Want, hosted by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt discussed various aspects of her career and motherhood in a candid conversation. The interaction between the two prominent actresses was lively and engaging, showcasing their distinct personalities—Kareena’s refreshingly straightforward approach complemented by Alia’s quick wit.
A noteworthy moment during the episode was Alia's recent revelation about adding Ranbir Kapoor’s surname to her own. This came after she had previously mentioned it on The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. When Kareena inquired about the name change, Alia remarked, “It was like a gag.” This comment was made in response to Sunil Grover’s comedic act on the show, leaving some fans questioning the authenticity of her name change.
To clarify her stance without creating an uncomfortable atmosphere, Alia stated, “Ranbir is a Bhatt, and I am a Kapoor.” In a charming twist, she shared that her daughter, Raha, sometimes refers to Ranbir as ‘Papa Bhatt,’ and added, “Even today, she called me Alia Kapoor. She keeps changing my name also.”
Currently, Alia is receiving positive feedback for her performance in Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala and co-produced by Karan Johar. The film is performing well at the box office, despite facing controversy when Divya Khossla accused the team of misrepresenting box-office collections and claimed that Jigra is a “copy” of her film, Savi, which also features a prison-break theme.
In addition to Jigra, Alia Bhatt is set to appear in Alpha, the next installment of YRF's spy universe, and will star in the highly anticipated film Love & War directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which will feature both Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal alongside her.
