‘Chhaava’ Box Office Collection Day 4: Vicky Kaushal’s Historic Drama Continues Strong Run

Laxman Utekar’s period action film Chhaava is making waves at the box office. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, the film opened to positive reviews from both critics and audiences.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Chhaava witnessed a dip on its first Monday but still managed to collect ₹24 crore net, taking its total earnings to ₹140.50 crore in just four days. The film, which released last Friday, registered an impressive opening of ₹31 crore—the highest ever for a Valentine’s Day release—surpassing Gully Boy, which had debuted with ₹19.40 crore.

Over the weekend, the film experienced significant growth, earning ₹37 crore on Saturday and ₹48.5 crore on Sunday. With this strong performance, Chhaava has already cemented its place among the highest-grossing films of 2025.

Vicky Kaushal on His Role as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj

Speaking to ANI, Vicky Kaushal described portraying Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj as the most challenging role of his career. He underwent rigorous physical and mental preparation to embody the historical figure.

“Playing such a historical figure requires a lot of discipline, and discipline is tough. If you are not used to discipline, where I was, it becomes very challenging because it's not just a one-month commitment; it's a commitment for one and a half to two years,” said Kaushal. He further added, “I'm just happy that I get to say that this is the toughest role I've played till date. I hope I can continue to grow, not just as an actor but as a human being, with every role I take on.”
