'Heeramandi' gains recognition and create waves after a special screening at Mumbai

Heeramandi - The Diamond Bazaar continued to make waves as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series had a special premiere in Mumbai. A lot of well known faces were present in it .

Set against the backdrop of the British Raj, 'Heeramandi' unfolds tales of triumph, dignity, female fury, and resilience. The series follows a collective of tawaifs, or courtesans, who run a prosperous brothel situated in Heeramandi, one of the famed red-light districts in South Asia.

The show features a stellar star cast, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shekhar Suman, and Fardeen Khan, among others.

On Instagram, Genelia D' Souza shared that she managed to catch only two episodes of 'Heeramandi,' but was thoroughly impressed by the captivating story and the pitch-perfect performances.

"Just watched 2 episodes of Heeramandi, and it has me craving for more. What a world, what a journey you take us through, Sanjay Sir. Mesmerized as always. Loved, loved, loved the entire cast and what a super effort by the crew too. Netflix this is truly special (sic),"Absolutely loved every bit of it! Netflix, this is truly special," she wrote this on her instagram handle, while posting a picture of herself with the creator (Sanjay Leela Bhansali).

Esha Deol also expressed her admiration for Bhansali's 'Heeramandi, and urged fans to definitely give it a watch.
