Ji Chang Wook and Son Ye Jin to Star in Netflix Remake of "Untold Scandal"
South Korean drama megastars Ji Chang Wook and Son Ye Jin are reportedly set to star opposite each other in a new K-drama in development at Netflix. On October 24, K-media outlets revealed that the two acclaimed actors are expected to take on leading roles in the upcoming series tentatively titled "Scandal."
This Netflix series will be a remake of the 2003 South Korean film "Untold Scandal," which featured Bae Yong Joon, Jeon Do Yeon, and Lee Mi Sook, among others. The original film, set during the Joseon Dynasty, is adapted from the French novel "Dangerous Liaisons." The upcoming reboot will be directed by Jung Ji Woo, known for his work on productions such as "Somebody," "Tune in for Love," and "Eungyo."
Agencies for both actors have commented on the casting rumors. MSteam Entertainment, representing Son Ye Jin, confirmed that she has received an offer for the Netflix series and is currently “reviewing the offer.” Ji Chang Wook's management at Spring Company also indicated that he is considering the proposal.
Ji Chang Wook's recent projects include his roles in JTBC’s "Welcome to Samdal-ri" and TVING’s "Queen Woo." He is set to debut in the Disney Plus series "Gangnam B-Side" on November 6. Meanwhile, Son Ye Jin has been less active in K-drama since her marriage to Hyun Bin, with the couple celebrating their second wedding anniversary in March.
Filming for the Netflix series "Scandal" is scheduled to begin in March next year, with further details and confirmations to be announced.
