Pushpa 2: The Rule Pre-Release Business Exceeds Expectations

Producer Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers recently held a press conference in Hyderabad to clarify the pre-release business figures for the highly anticipated film, Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil. The film is set for release on December 5.

During the press meet, Ravi Shankar addressed rumors that the film’s pre-release business had surpassed ₹1000 crore. He stated, “Pushpa 2 did well in its non-theatrical business and made ₹425 crore. When we add in the theatrical business, over ₹1000 crore overall in pre-release business feels achievable, but that’s an estimate.”

According to reports, the theatrical rights for Pushpa 2 have been valued at ₹600 crore globally. The film's non-theatrical revenue includes ₹275 crore from OTT rights, ₹85 crore from satellite rights, and ₹65 crore from music rights.

The film will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali. Distribution plans are extensive, with N Cinemas handling the release in Karnataka, E4 Entertainments in Kerala, Mythri Movies Movie Distributors LLP in Telangana, AGS Entertainment in Tamil Nadu, and AA Films managing North India and West Bengal distribution.

Lakshmi Kanth Reddy from N Cinemas indicated expectations for strong box office performance in Karnataka, estimating that the film could surpass ₹90 crore in business. He remarked, “KGF was released in 350 single screens and 80 multiplexes; we plan to allot more screens for Pushpa 2. Maybe it’ll even cross Kantara’s business.”

In Tamil Nadu, AGS Entertainment plans to release Pushpa 2 in 806 screens across 539 locations, aiming for a significant opening. Anil Thadani of AA Films, who supported previous blockbusters like Baahubali and KGF, expressed hope for continued success, stating, “I was lucky to back Pushpa: The Rise, and I hope history repeats itself.”

Ravi Shankar also mentioned that the film would be available in 3000 locations overseas in various Indian languages. Additionally, there are plans for an international cut of the film in languages such as Russian and Japanese at a later stage.
