Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt Address Media on Daughter Raha’s Privacy Concerns

Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt addressed the press in Mumbai on Thursday after celebrating Alia’s birthday in advance with the media. During the interaction, the couple urged photographers and media outlets to respect their daughter Raha’s privacy and refrain from posting unauthorized images of her.
Alia clarified that while they are not considering legal action at the moment, they may be forced to take steps if their request is ignored. “We don’t want to push any sort of action, but we’ll be left with no choice if people don’t listen. Wait for Raha to cross or cover her face while clicking pictures,” she said.
According to reports by NDTV, Alia also shared her deep concerns regarding their daughter’s safety. “My worst nightmare is someone breaking in and taking Raha away,” she reportedly stated.
Ranbir, echoing her sentiments, reminded the media of his long-standing association with the industry and urged them to respect their privacy. “It might sound like a privileged problem. But as parents, we are trying to do as much as we can to protect our child. Anybody with a camera phone can post it, it’s not in our control. But we are just asking for help.”
The actor also highlighted a previous incident where Alia was photographed inside their home without consent, calling it a violation of privacy. “We understand there’s curiosity, but there’s a line you cannot cross,” he added.
During the discussion, Alia intervened when Ranbir suggested that Raha could possibly be photographed on special occasions like Christmas. The couple also reminded everyone that the Child Privacy Law and Data Protection Law prohibit the use of minors’ images without parental consent.
Alia Bhatt Deletes Raha’s Pictures from Social Media
The couple’s stance on their daughter’s privacy follows Alia’s recent decision to delete all pictures of Raha from her social media accounts.
Concerns about celebrity children’s security have been heightened following an alarming incident in January this year, when actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked multiple times by an intruder inside his home. The trespasser was reportedly found in the room of Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s younger son, Jeh. Since then, the couple has requested the media to refrain from photographing their children, Taimur and Jeh, citing safety reasons.
Ranbir and Alia have now followed suit, choosing to keep their daughter out of the public eye to ensure her safety.
