SS Rajamouli Announces ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ to Mark 10 Years of the Blockbuster Franchise

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the monumental film that redefined Indian cinema, celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli has announced a special theatrical release — Baahubali: The Epic. The new version will combine Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) into a single, seamless film experience for audiences worldwide.

Making the announcement on social media with a striking new poster featuring lead actor Prabhas, Rajamouli wrote, “Baahubali…The beginning of many journeys. Countless memories. Endless inspiration. It’s been 10 years. Marking this special milestone with #BaahubaliTheEpic, a two-part combined film. In theatres worldwide on October 31, 2025.”

This reimagined version, titled Baahubali: The Epic, will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. While many fans expressed excitement over revisiting the franchise in this format, some were disappointed by the absence of a Kannada release. Others took the opportunity to ask for updates on Rajamouli’s much-anticipated upcoming project, SSMB 29, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah Bhatia, the Baahubali series narrates the story of a man’s discovery of his royal lineage and his fight to reclaim his kingdom. With its grand storytelling, groundbreaking VFX, and emotionally rich narrative, the two-part saga set a new benchmark for Indian filmmaking.

Fans shared their enthusiasm online with comments such as, “Baahubali raised the bar for TFI and Indian cinema as well. Ten glorious years of the masterpiece from #SSRajamouli,” and “Super Excited for the trim version.”

When released, Baahubali: The Beginning grossed around ₹650 crore worldwide, while its sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, shattered records by collecting an estimated ₹1788.06 crore. The latter remains one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, only behind Dangal and Pushpa 2: The Rule.

As the industry takes note of this ambitious recut, all eyes are now on October 31, 2025, when Baahubali: The Epic is set to hit theatres globally — offering fans a chance to relive the cinematic marvel in a renewed, cohesive form.
