Vikrant Massey Faces Backlash for Touching Wife’s Feet During Karwa Chauth Celebrations

Actor Vikrant Massey recently became the center of an online debate after sharing images of his Karwa Chauth celebration with his wife, Sheetal Thakur. The photos, which he posted on Instagram, show the couple observing the festival together, with one of the images depicting Vikrant touching Sheetal's feet. While some praised the gesture, others reacted with criticism, even sending abusive messages over social media.

In the photos, the couple is seen performing the traditional puja against a backdrop of the full moon. Speaking about the controversy in an interview with The Lallantop, Vikrant said, "My phone had six photos, but only four of them became a topic of discussion. Some people liked it, while others even abused me. I don’t understand why. I believe that if you want peace at home, you should touch your wife’s feet from time to time. People made those photos viral.”

He further explained his views, saying, “She is the Lakshmi of my home, and I don’t think it’s wrong to touch Lakshmi’s feet. I proudly say that she came into my life 10 years ago and changed it for the better. Ever since she entered my life, only good things have happened, and to keep it that way, I continue to touch her feet.”

Vikrant and Sheetal's relationship goes back several years. The couple had a civil marriage on February 14, 2022, followed by a traditional ceremony in Himachal Pradesh on February 18. Last September, Vikrant announced that they were expecting their first child, sharing a symbolic image of safety pins — one carrying a smaller pin, hinting at the addition to their family. They welcomed their son, Vardaan, on February 7 this year.

Vikrant will soon appear in his latest project, The Sabarmati Report, releasing on November 15. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the drama thriller features Vikrant as a journalist delving into the events surrounding the 2002 Godhra train burning incident. Co-starring Raashii Khanna, the film has faced delays but is now set for release, adding to the actor’s impressive and diverse filmography.
