Allu Arjun's Highly Anticipated Film 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' Shatters Opening Day Records

Allu Arjun’s eagerly awaited film Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar, finally hit theaters on December 5, with paid previews taking place a day earlier on December 4. Early reports of its opening collection suggest that the film has made an impressive mark at the box office. According to Sacnilk.com, Pushpa 2 generated a staggering Rs 50 crore net across both Telugu and Hindi on its opening day.

Released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, and Hindi, the movie was shown in various formats such as 2D, IMAX, 4DX, D-Box, and PVR ICE. The 3D version of the film is expected to be released at a later date. Despite being a weekday, the movie managed to break records by crossing the Rs 50 crore milestone in both languages. Final numbers are still awaited, but this achievement marks a significant accomplishment in the Indian film industry.

"Rs 50 crore" stands as a massive opening for the movie, with the report indicating that this is the first film in India to hit the Rs 50 crore net mark in two languages in a single day.

To further boost the film’s opening week, the makers have opted for a ticket price hike, which has sparked some controversy. In select theaters in Mumbai and Delhi, ticket prices soared to Rs 2500. The decision was supported by the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments, which allowed for special shows. Although prices are expected to return to normal after the first week, the strategy aims to maximize early viewership during the film's release.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. The film brings back Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. Earlier, a post hinting at the release of Pushpa 3 was briefly shared but later removed by Resul Pookutty.

With its massive opening and growing buzz, Pushpa 2 is set to continue its strong performance at the box office, further solidifying its place in Indian cinema.
