AR Rahman’s Daughter Raheema Graduates from Switzerland’s Glion Institute, Maestro Shares Proud Moment

Music maestro AR Rahman recently shared a proud personal milestone, celebrating his daughter Raheema’s graduation from the prestigious Glion Institute of Higher Education, located in Montreux, Switzerland. The Oscar-winning composer took to Instagram to post heartwarming moments from the graduation ceremony.

In the photos, Raheema is seen in her graduation gown and cap, posing gracefully for the camera. A collage captured her moment of receiving the graduation certificate, while another image highlighted her designation as “Student Ambassador.” Rahman, beaming with pride, captioned the post, "My little princess, Raheema, has graduated from the Glion Institute of Higher Education with a focus on Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. #proud-dad #womenleaders #alhamdulillah."

Raheema also shared a glimpse of the occasion through her Instagram Stories, uploading a series of pictures with friends and classmates from the ceremony. For the special day, she opted for an elegant beige co-ord set.

AR Rahman and Saira Banu, who married in 1995, are parents to three children—Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen. In November last year, the couple announced their separation, citing “significant emotional strain in their relationship.”

Raheema has occasionally accompanied her father in musical ventures. In 2019, she and her sister Khatija joined him on stage during U2’s concert in Mumbai, leaving the audience captivated.

In a past interview with ANI, Rahman had reflected on the mindset of his daughters, saying, “They (Raheema and Khatija) have the toughest mindsets. Anything they do, they feel like they have to be good enough...all these things come to their mind. So I keep telling them not to be worried about anything, just do it, just do the stuff and then you will have your own personality...God will bless you and nobody is going to compare them.”

Currently, the maestro is on his much-anticipated Wonderment Tour across North America, with performances scheduled in major cities across the US and Canada. The tour celebrates Rahman’s iconic music spanning decades. Following the North American leg, he will head to the UK before returning to India in November.
