Bhavana Pandey Reflects on Daughter Ananya Panday’s Acting Journey
Bhavana Pandey, recently seen in Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, shared her thoughts on her daughter Ananya Panday’s Bollywood debut and her subsequent growth as an actress. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Bhavana offered an honest critique of Ananya’s performance in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 and highlighted her evolution in more recent projects such as Kho Gaye Hum Kahan and Call Me Bae.
Discussing Ananya’s early days in the industry, Bhavana remarked, “I think she did everything she could from her side. She gave her best effort. Of course, there are so many factors that matter in a film. Maybe in Student of the Year 2... she was too raw. So I wouldn’t say she didn’t try her best, but perhaps she wasn’t fully aware of what to do.”
Bhavana also praised Ananya’s recent performances, expressing her admiration for her daughter’s growth. She said, “I think she was amazing in the films Kho Gaye Hum Kahan and *Call Me Bae. I absolutely loved her.” Highlighting Ananya’s comedic timing, Bhavana added, “I think she was very funny. I don’t want to sound like an obsessed fan, but I keep rewatching that series. Whenever I have nothing else to watch, I put it on because it’s just so funny. I really enjoyed her character in Call Me Bae.”
On the professional front, Ananya was last seen in CTRL, where she portrayed Nella Awasthi, an influencer who uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to erase her ex-boyfriend from her life following a breakup. Up next, Ananya will star alongside Akshay Kumar in Karan Johar’s untitled film inspired by the life of C. Sankaran Nair. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, this project will mark her first collaboration with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on March 14, 2025.
Ananya Panday’s journey in Bollywood reflects her dedication and ability to take on diverse roles, and her fans eagerly await her upcoming performances.
