Diljit Dosanjh Faces Notice Ahead of Hyderabad Concert on 'Dil-Luminati' Tour
Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, currently on his nationwide 'Dil-Luminati' tour, has been issued a notice by the Telangana Government ahead of his performance in Hyderabad on Friday, November 15. The tour spans 10 cities across India, with prior concerts held in Jaipur and Delhi, drawing massive crowds.
The notice, issued by the District Welfare Officer of the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens, Rangareddy, directs the singer to refrain from performing songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence. It further advises against the use of children during the event, citing concerns over loud sounds and flashing lights being harmful to them.
Quoting World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, the notice emphasizes that “children under 13 should not be exposed to sound levels above 120 dB.” It also explicitly states, “Therefore, children should not be used on stage during your live show where peak sound pressure level is above 120 dB.”
The reminder follows a representation from a Chandigarh resident, which raised concerns about previous performances. It was noted that Dosanjh had allegedly performed songs promoting drugs and alcohol during a concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi last month. The Delhi event was attended by over 35,000 people.
The Hyderabad concert marks the next leg of the tour, which will also include stops in Pune, Mumbai, and Guwahati. The notice serves as a precautionary measure to ensure the event complies with safety and welfare regulations.
Diljit Dosanjh has not yet commented on the notice or its implications for his upcoming performance.
