Filmmaker Uppalapati Srinivasa Rao Accuses SS Rajamouli of Harassment in Video Before Alleged Suicide

Filmmaker Uppalapati Srinivasa Rao has made serious allegations against acclaimed director SS Rajamouli, holding him responsible for his personal and professional struggles. In a video reportedly recorded before his alleged suicide, Srinivasa accused Rajamouli of harassment and mental torture. The video, along with a letter, was sent to Mettu Police Station and later accessed by Big TV.

In the footage, Srinivasa, who claimed to have been Rajamouli’s close friend since the 1990s, directly blamed the RRR director and his wife, Rama Rajamouli, for his distress. He stated, “India’s number one director, SS Rajamouli and Rama Rajamouli, are the reason for my suicide. You might think I am doing this for publicity, but this is my final letter. Everyone from MM Keeravaani to Chandrasekhar Yeleti and Hanu Raghavapudi knows how close I have been to Rajamouli for years now. I never thought a woman could come between us.”

Further, Srinivasa alleged that his relationship with Rajamouli was entangled in a personal conflict involving a woman, likening it to a triangle love story similar to the plot of director Sukumar’s film Arya 2. He stated, “He asked me to sacrifice my love for her, and while I didn’t agree at first, I did later on. He believed I’d told people about this, and he began torturing me after we got into an argument. We worked together till Yamadonga (2007), but he ruined my life after that. He tortured me so much since he became a big shot. I am 55 years old and have lived a single life.”

Srinivasa also urged the authorities to conduct a lie detector test to verify his claims.

SS Rajamouli, known for blockbuster films such as Baahubali and RRR, has yet to respond to these allegations. His last directorial venture, RRR (2022), featured Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles. Currently, Rajamouli is working on an ambitious action-adventure film starring Mahesh Babu, with rumors suggesting that Priyanka Chopra may also be part of the project.

Authorities are expected to investigate the claims made by Srinivasa, while the industry awaits Rajamouli’s response to these serious accusations.
