Junaid Khan’s Silver Screen Debut Sparks Mixed Reactions Online

Junaid Khan, ahead of his much-anticipated silver screen debut, has become a topic of debate across social media. His candid and unfiltered persona has divided the internet, with some finding his honesty refreshing while others question whether it suits the public eye.
Junaid, who made his on-screen debut with Maharaj (2024) on an OTT platform, shares this milestone with The Archies (2023) actress Khushi Kapoor. While neither is technically new to the industry, their latest release, Loveyapa, marks their first appearance on the big screen. Throughout the film’s promotional tour, both actors have garnered attention—Khushi for her poised and composed demeanor, and Junaid for simply being himself.
A recent viral clip from an interview has particularly fueled this conversation. When asked about his approach to selecting scripts, Junaid seemed momentarily perplexed before candidly admitting that he hasn’t had much to choose from. He revealed that after completing Maharaj in 2021, he faced a two-year gap before Loveyapa came his way. His honest response elicited mixed reactions, with some audience members chuckling and others appearing surprised.
On social media, opinions have been divided. Some users felt that admitting to a lack of work so early in his career was not a wise move. One comment read, "Second-hand embarrassment hogya ye dekhke," while another suggested he develop better communication skills, stating, "He needs to work at a fast food place or any place where u need to interact with customers and handle them so he can build his communication skills at this point ." A few even drew comparisons to his father, Aamir Khan, with one remarking, "Ironic as his father was the smartest and most innovative marketer in Bollywood."
However, many others appreciated his transparency and refusal to follow a scripted PR approach. One supporter wrote, "Honestly, I related hard with this lol. Why do you need boilerplate PR garbage being spewed over and over again? Don't you already get that with the rest of the nepos?" Another user echoed this sentiment, saying, "This is the first clip where I find him remotely likeable lol! We don’t need everyone to spew PR-trained bs like a parrot." Others praised his authenticity, with one comment stating, "I feel he is authentic. Maharaj was actually good, let actors be actors and not marketers please."
Despite the online discourse, Junaid appears unaffected by the mixed reception, carrying himself with an air of ease and sincerity. Whether his raw, unfiltered persona works in his favor or not remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—he has people talking.
