Subhashree Ganguly Set to Reprise Role as Mahishasuramardini in 'Nabarupe Devi Durga' for Mahalaya Special
As Durga Puja approaches, Bengal is preparing to celebrate its grandest festival. The state is gearing up for the festival, and the entertainment industry is no exception. The Bengali television industry is set to present a range of Puja special programs, with one of the most anticipated being the Mahalaya special, Nabarupe Devi Durga.
Popular Tollywood actress Subhashree Ganguly, known for her roles in films like Parineeta, is returning to the small screen after a one-year hiatus. Subhashree will be reprising her role as Mahishasuramardini, which she had portrayed in 2021 and 2022. Last year, she had to take a break from the show due to her pregnancy, as she welcomed her daughter. Now, she is all set to take center stage once again, this time adorned as Goddess Durga in a stunning red costume and heavy jewelry.
Alongside Subhashree, popular TV actresses Ankita Mallick and Mohana Maiti will also be featured in Nabarupe Devi Durga, which promises to showcase different forms of the Goddess. The special show will air on Mahalaya, a traditional part of the Durga Puja celebrations that marks the arrival of the goddess. The latest promo for the show is already out, generating excitement among viewers.
Subhashree’s return as Mahishasuramardini has stirred nostalgia for the actress, who is eager to recreate the magic of the previous years. "Subhashree will be seen as the leading lady on the show, whereas the female protagonists from different shows of the channel will be seen taking part in the show as well." Along with Ankita and Mohana, other actresses like Shweta and Pallavi are also set to play key roles in the portrayal of the nine forms of the Goddess.
This year's Mahalaya special, Nabarupe Devi Durga, promises to be a visual treat for viewers, blending mythology, tradition, and powerful performances by some of Bengali TV's most beloved stars. Fans of Subhashree Ganguly are particularly excited to see her embody the powerful figure of Mahishasuramardini once again, as the countdown to Durga Puja begins.
