Good news for vegetarians, Zomato launches its Pure Veg Mode
Zomato, the food delivery platform, has launched a new feature named "Pure Veg Mode" to accommodate the dietary preferences of India's substantial vegetarian community. Deepinder Goyal, the company's founder and CEO, unveiled the service, recognizing India's status as the world's largest population of vegetarians, catering specifically to customers with a 100% vegetarian dietary preference.
The decision stemmed from input provided by vegetarian patrons who voiced apprehensions regarding the cooking and handling of their food. Given India's distinction for having the world's highest percentage of vegetarians, Deepinder Goyal emphasized their discerning preferences concerning food preparation and service.
"In India, where we have the largest percentage of vegetarians globally, we've received crucial feedback indicating their meticulousness regarding food preparation and handling," stated Deepinder Goyal in a post on X. "To address their dietary preferences, we're introducing a 'Pure Veg Mode' and deploying a 'Pure Veg Fleet' on Zomato, tailored for customers with a 100% vegetarian dietary preference."
